ED Intensifies Probe Into Illegal Land Occupation In Ranchi

Investigators Visit Chama Village In Search Of Absconding Land Dealer Kamlesh Kumar

Agency recovered Rs 1 crore cash and 100 cartridges in recent raids.

RANCHI – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has stepped up its investigation into illegal land occupation cases in Jharkhand, focusing on absconding land dealer Kamlesh Kumar.

"ED teams visited Chama village in Kanke, Ranchi on Wednesday to investigate Kumar’s alleged forcible land occupations," a source stated.

Recent raids on Kumar’s hideouts yielded Rs 1 crore in cash and 100 cartridges.

Kumar, a former journalist turned land dealer, has been evading authorities since a June 21 raid on his Kanke residence.

"The ED summoned Kumar for questioning, but he failed to appear," a source revealed.

Reports suggest Kumar may have fled to Bangkok via Kolkata.

Sources close to Kumar describe his lavish lifestyle and aggressive land acquisition tactics.

Kumar reportedly employed two armed bodyguards in recent months, indicating his growing influence.

The investigation highlights concerns over illegal land deals in Ranchi’s Kanke and Nagdi areas.

ED’s actions underscore efforts to curb land-related corruption in Jharkhand.
