Election Commission Team Arrives In Ranchi For Crucial Review
Senior Officials To Assess Preparations For Possible Early Assembly Polls
Meeting with district election officers scheduled for July 11 in Patratu.
RANCHI – A high-level Election Commission of India team arrived in Ranchi on Wednesday evening to review preparations for potential early assembly elections in Jharkhand.
Senior Deputy Election Commissioners Dharmendra Sharma and Nitesh Kumar Vyas, along with Principal Secretary Arvind Anand, were welcomed by state electoral officials at Birsa Munda Airport.
"The team will brainstorm regarding Jharkhand assembly elections on July 11 in Patratu," stated an official.
Officials will review the second special summary revision of voter lists with all district election officers.
Speculation suggests Jharkhand polls may coincide with elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jammu and Kashmir.
The Commission will assess readiness for early elections based on reports from 24 district Deputy Commissioners.
This visit marks a crucial step in determining the timeline for Jharkhand’s upcoming assembly elections.
State electoral officials, including Additional Chief Electoral Officer Neha Arora, participated in welcoming the team.
The review meeting will be held at Patratu Tourism Vihar auditorium on Thursday.
Recommendations from this assessment will be submitted to top Election Commission officials for final decisions.
