Political Parties and Organizations Admonished for Election Code Breaches

Violations of the Model Code of Conduct have led to warnings from the Election Commission to Jharkhand BJP, Congress MLA Irfan Ansari, and Bokaro’s Steel Authority of India (SAIL).

RANCHI – Violations of the Model Code of Conduct have led to warnings from the Election Commission to Jharkhand BJP, Congress MLA Irfan Ansari, and Bokaro’s Steel Authority of India (SAIL).

Under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, the date of voting for the Lok Sabha General Election 2024 in Jharkhand has been declared a public holiday.

Violation of the Model Code of Conduct is seen when religious places are used for election propaganda.

The Election Commission’s guidelines have been directed to be followed by Congress MLA Irfan Ansari’s post on social media.

During the fourth and fifth phase of voting, the BJP has been accused of distributing more than 400 voter slips that contain slogans, photos, and election symbols instead of the standard slips.

Within two months, workers who go to vote in shifts will also receive one day of leave.

On May 25, the management of Bokaro Steel Plant revised its order to grant paid leave to employees.

The Election Commission has issued warnings to ensure strict adherence to the Model Code of Conduct.

The use of religious places for election propaganda has been particularly highlighted as a violation.

Congress MLA Irfan Ansari has been directed to comply with the Commission’s guidelines regarding social media posts.

The BJP’s distribution of voter slips with campaign materials has been flagged as a breach of election rules.

The revised order by Bokaro Steel Plant to grant paid leave to voting employees aims to facilitate voter participation.

Workers voting in shifts will benefit from additional leave to ensure they can cast their votes.

The public holiday declared on the voting day underscores the importance of ensuring every citizen’s right to vote.

These measures reflect the Election Commission’s commitment to fair and transparent elections.

Political parties and organizations are reminded of their responsibility to adhere to the established code of conduct.

The Election Commission’s actions serve as a warning to maintain the integrity of the electoral process.

Ensuring compliance with election guidelines is crucial for upholding democratic principles.
