Alamgir Alam Faces ED Inquiry Following Cash Seizure from Secretary’s Residence
Jharkhand government minister Alamgir Alam appeared at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Ranchi in connection with an alleged money laundering case.
RANCHI – Jharkhand minister Alamgir Alam appeared before the ED in Ranchi after Rs 35 crore was seized from the residences of his personal secretary, Sanjeev Lal, and domestic help, Jahangir Alam.
Alamgir Alam was summoned for questioning at 11 AM but arrived early, reaching the ED office at 10:45 AM.
Speaking to the media upon his arrival, Alam emphasized his compliance with the law and expressed his readiness to answer all ED queries.
Alam also carried several documents with him to the ED office.
It is anticipated that Alam and his secretary, Sanjeev Lal, may be interrogated face-to-face.
Following an ED raid on May 6, Sanjeev Lal and his domestic help, Jahangir Alam, were detained.
Meanwhile, Sanjeev Lal’s wife, Rita Lal, departed the ED office after her interrogation concluded.
Rita Lal had brought files and documents for her questioning at the ED office.
The investigation continues as the ED examines the details surrounding the substantial cash seizure.
Alam’s compliance with the summons underscores his stated commitment to transparency.
