Rural Police dismantle gang modifying, selling stolen bikes
Jamshedpur’s rural police have dismantled a network specializing in the theft, modification, and sale of motorcycles, arresting a key member.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Kowali area is now recognized as a significant concern for bike thefts.
Shekhar Mandal from Bada Amda of Kowali was arrested with 12 stolen motorcycles. Intelligence about his involvement led the East Singhbhum District Rural Police to him.
The gang’s modus operandi involved the theft, modification, and sale of stolen bikes. Rural SP Rishabh Garg confirmed the successful apprehension of Mandal.
Mandal admitted to modifying stolen bikes for over a year. His confession detailed the sharing of sales proceeds among gang members.
Despite previous police efforts, motorcycle thefts in the area continue unabated.
