CM Champai Soren Assumes Departments Managed by Incarcerated Minister Alamgir Alam
Cabinet Secretariat Issues Notification on Departmental Changes
CM Champai Soren takes over departments managed by jailed minister Alamgir Alam, increasing pressure on Congress for disciplinary action.
RANCHI – Chief Minister Champai Soren has taken control of the departments previously managed by Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam, who is currently in jail due to a cash scandal.
The Cabinet Secretariat and Monitoring Department issued a notification regarding this change.
According to the notification issued by Home Secretary Vandana Dadel, the Chief Minister now oversees the Parliamentary Affairs Department, Rural Development Department, Rural Works Department, and Panchayati Raj Department, in addition to the departments already under his purview.
This change is effective immediately.
Sources indicate that this move by the Chief Minister aims to pressure the Congress party to take action against Minister Alamgir Alam, either through disciplinary measures or by prompting his resignation.
The decision also implies that if the Congress does not act soon, the Chief Minister may proceed to dismiss Alamgir Alam from his ministerial position.
"The Chief Minister’s decision is a clear message to the Congress to address the situation swiftly," said a political analyst.
The reshuffle underscores the ongoing political developments within the state government.
