Jugsalai Residents Raise Concerns Over Incomplete Water Tank Filling

Community Leader Accuses Department of Inadequate Water Supply in Jugsalai Tanks

Sardar Shailendra Singh, president of the Jugsalai Nagrik Sangharsh Committee, has raised concerns with the local authorities about incomplete water filling in Jugsalai’s tanks.

JAMSHEDPUR – Sardar Shailendra Singh submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, alleging that the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department is not properly filling the water tanks in the Jugsalai area.

Singh claims the department has avoided installing water flow meters to mislead residents about the true volume of water in the tanks.

He specified that five tanks in the area are not being filled to their capacity of several lakh gallons.

In his memorandum, Singh detailed the technical issues with the aging motors at the Jugsalai Water Treatment Plant, which affect water pumping efficiency.

He has called for the installation of new motors and the implementation of water flow meters to ensure transparency and efficiency.

Singh also requested infrastructure upgrades, including a new pipeline and consistent power supply to tackle the water shortages effectively.

Without these changes, Singh warned of potential public protests after the local elections on May 25 if the water issues are not addressed.
