Key leaders meet to strategize amid upcoming elections
Jamshedpur’s political landscape is marked by discussions and strategies as local leaders navigate election complexities.
RANCHI – Discussions about electoral strategies have intensified within the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) following MLA Lobin Hembram’s announcement of his independent candidacy for the Rajmahal Lok Sabha seat.
State government minister Basant Soren and other key candidates convened with former Chief Minister Hemant Soren at Hotwar jail.
During the meeting, strategies for upcoming elections were discussed, focusing on Hembram’s recent declaration and other internal party issues.
JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya addressed the ongoing controversies, emphasizing that internal disputes are common during elections and will be resolved.
He further stated that no significant opposition exists within the party ranks, countering claims of discontent among the Ho tribe against candidate Joba Manjhi in Singhbhum.
On the topic of other electoral disputes, discussions were also held about the candidacy for the Jamshedpur seat, with indications of an impending announcement.
Moreover, the responsibility of resolving issues with Lobin Hembram and the Ho society has been assigned to Basant Soren.
Controversies continue to simmer within the party, as MLA Chamra Linda remains steadfast about contesting from the Lohardaga seat.
Despite these challenges, assurances have been given by Hemant Soren that the party will navigate through these disputes effectively.
