Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee Clears Encroachments in Sakchi
JNAC Collects Rs 20,000 in Fines, Warns Against Setting Up Shops in Parking Areas
The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) launched a comprehensive campaign on Monday to remove unauthorized shops and encroachments from footpaths and roadsides in the Sakchi area, while also collecting fines amounting to approximately Rs 20,000 from shopkeepers found operating beyond their allotted spaces.
JAMSHEDPUR – Acting on the orders of JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, the Flying Squad Team of JNAC, led by Junior Engineer Mahendra Kumar Pradhan, conducted a thorough anti-encroachment drive in the Sakchi market area.
The campaign, which commenced from Sakchi Bada Roundabout and extended to Ramlila Maidan on State Mile Road and Sakchi Number 9 Stand, targeted shops, carts, kiosks, and illegally parked two-wheelers and four-wheelers on the footpaths.
Jamshedpur Access officials have affirmed their commitment to continuing the campaign in the future to maintain clear and accessible public spaces for pedestrians and motorists alike.
In addition to the removal of encroachments, the JNAC also collected fines totaling Rs 20,000 from shopkeepers who had set up their establishments beyond the designated areas allotted to them.
The anti-encroachment drive was supported by a team of officials, including Ganesh Ram, Prakash Bhagat, Vinod Tiwari, and Krishna, who played crucial roles in the successful execution of the campaign.
In a related development, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar convened a meeting of parking sensors and officials at the Jamshedpur Access Office on Monday evening to address the issue of unauthorized shops being set up in designated parking areas.
Sensors were warned of stringent action if they failed to adhere to the rules and regulations governing parking spaces within the city.
The move is part of JNAC’s concerted efforts to streamline and improve the parking system in Jamshedpur, ensuring that vehicles are parked only in the allotted spaces to prevent traffic congestion and maintain smooth flow of vehicles on the roads.
The deputy commissioner also appealed to drivers to refrain from parking their vehicles in no-parking zones to prevent traffic jams and ensure the safety and convenience of all road users.
