BJP Targets 370 Seats in 2024 Polls, Focuses on Jamshedpur
Party Holds Strategy Meetings to Secure Third Term for MP Bidyut Baran Mahato
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi setting a target of winning 370 seats in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its preparations across the country, with a special focus on securing all 14 seats in Jharkhand, including Jamshedpur, with a significant margin.
JAMSHEDPUR – The BJP has kickstarted its election strategy meetings in Jamshedpur to ensure a third term for incumbent MP Bidyut Baran Mahato from the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency.
On Sunday, organizational meetings were held under the one-day assembly program in the Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West Assembly segments to review the progress of the party’s campaigns and finalize election preparations.
Key BJP Leaders Participate in Strategy Sessions
Regional Organization General Secretary Nagendra Nath Tripathi led the meeting in Jamshedpur East Assembly, while State Spokesperson Pratul Shahdev spearheaded the session in the West Assembly segment.
The meetings saw the participation of key BJP leaders, including Jamshedpur Lok Sabha Convenor and State Minister Nandji Prasad, BJP Jamshedpur Metropolitan President Sudhanshu Ojha, along with assembly in-charges, convenors, co-convenors, former district presidents, state and district officers, and booth presidents.
Booth-Level Targets and Voter Outreach
During the meetings, the party outlined strategies to increase voting in favor of the BJP by 10 percent at booth levels, intensify contact campaigns, and effectively communicate Prime Minister Modi’s message to beneficiaries of various government schemes.
Booth presidents were tasked with securing 370 more votes than those polled in favor of the BJP in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
"The activism of booth and Panna Pramukhs is crucial in the elections," said Nagendra Nath Tripathi.
"We must work with better planning and set a target of increasing voting by 10 percent in favor of the party at the winning booths."
MP Bidyut Baran Mahato’s Call to Action
Addressing the gathering, MP Bidyut Baran Mahato reiterated BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda’s target of winning 370 seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
He urged party workers to highlight the public welfare works and schemes initiated by the Central Government under PM Modi’s leadership, while also exposing the failures and unfulfilled promises of the JMM-Congress coalition government in Jharkhand.
"We must ensure that the Central Government’s schemes reach the last person in society and make the public aware that these schemes are being provided by PM Modi," Mahato said.
"Our aim is to connect people with various initiatives like Ujjwala gas, grants to women’s groups, Kisan Samman Nidhi for farmers, and self-employment opportunities."
BJP’s Confidence in Jamshedpur Victory
State Spokesperson Pratul Shahdev expressed confidence that BJP candidate Bidyut Baran Mahato would secure more votes in Jamshedpur compared to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
He emphasized the prevailing pro-BJP atmosphere in the country and the state, attributing it to the public’s trust in PM Modi’s leadership and vision of a developed India.
"The people will completely eliminate the terror of this anti-development and selfish government in the Lok Sabha elections and then in the assembly elections," Shahdev said, attacking the JMM-Congress coalition government in Jharkhand for allegedly sabotaging important Central Government schemes due to its stubbornness.
