Special arrangements being made for handicapped voters to ensure maximum turnout in East Singhbhum
The Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program is running in full swing in East Singhbhum, positively impacting voters across the district.
JAMSHEDPUR – Maino Mardi, a 103-year-old voter from Dhalbhumgarh, has expressed her excitement to cast her vote at the polling booth despite being offered the option of home voting.
The Dhalbhumgarh Block Development Officer (BDO) met Mardi and informed her about the home voting facility.
However, Mardi insisted on going to the polling station himself to exercise her right to vote.
She expressed happiness upon learning that, as per the Election Commission’s provisions, she would be provided with a vehicle to travel to and from the polling station.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to vote at the polling booth, even at my age," Mardi said, displaying her enthusiasm for the electoral process.
The BDO praised Mardi’s commitment to voting, stating, "Maino Mardi’s dedication to casting her vote at the polling booth is truly inspiring and sets an example for voters of all ages."
In addition to the arrangements for senior citizens, special provisions are being made for handicapped voters to ensure maximum voter turnout in the district.
The SVEEP program’s efforts to educate and facilitate voters’ participation have been yielding positive results across East Singhbhum.
