Jamshedpur Women’s University to Celebrate Academic Excellence on March 2
Jamshedpur Women’s University gears up for its inaugural convocation ceremony, highlighting significant strides in infrastructure and academic achievements.
JAMSHEDPUR – Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta, Vice Chancellor of Jamshedpur Women’s University, expressed satisfaction with the university’s progress despite the challenges encountered since her tenure began on June 22, 2022.
Acknowledging the dedication of the university’s faculty, she highlighted that only 21 out of 61 approved teaching positions are currently filled, underscoring the educators‘ significance as the institution’s backbone.
The university announced plans to enhance student and staff mobility with the purchase of a bus and the opening of a 500-bed hostel in the new campus, following Syndicate and Finance Committee approvals.
A milestone event, the convocation ceremony will broadcast live, allowing broader participation in celebrating the academic journey of the graduates.
Scheduled for March 2 at the Sidhgora campus, the ceremony will honor 702 girl students with degrees, including 28 top performers with gold medals across various subjects.
Post-graduate students from diverse fields, including Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Commerce, B.Ed, M.Ed, and B.P.Ed, are among the 702 out of 1014 students set to attend.
The Vice Chancellor detailed preparations for the convocation, including a grand pandal with a seating capacity of 1000 and a specific dress code for attendees.
However, 84 gold medalist students from 2020 to 2022 will not receive medals due to jurisdictional issues with Kolhan University, a challenge highlighted by Dr. Gupta.
Infrastructure and Academic Pride
The introduction of a new bus and the upcoming hostel operation are pivotal steps towards enhancing JWU’s infrastructure and student services.
The dress code for the convocation ceremony, aiming to instill a sense of unity and pride, reflects the university’s commitment to tradition and excellence.
Faculty Dedication and Challenges
Despite facing staffing challenges, the unwavering commitment of JWU’s faculty has been crucial in maintaining academic standards and institutional resilience.
The Vice Chancellor’s acknowledgment of the faculty’s role underscores the importance of educators in shaping the university’s future.
