Tata Steel’s 4th SHE Excellence Awards underscore a commitment to safety, health, and environmental stewardship, marking a first in recognizing vendor partners.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Tube Makers Club was the venue for the prestigious 4th edition of Tata Steel’s Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Excellence Awards, emphasizing "Values Driven Excellence."
The Lime Plant at Tata Steel Jamshedpur took home the Apex Health Torchbearer award, showcasing its leadership in health management.
Khondbond Ore Mines & Quarries Division received the Best of the Best Department 5S & Visual Workplace Management award, illustrating excellence in workplace organization and safety.
The Sinter Plant at Tata Steel Jamshedpur was awarded the Environment Excellence Green Award, highlighting its commitment to environmental sustainability.
Tata Steel Kalinganagar’s Hot Strip Mill was honored with the Apex Safety Torchbearer Award, reflecting outstanding safety practices.
The I Blast Furnace, Tata Steel Jamshedpur, earned the Green Cross Trophy for its exceptional safety and environmental practices.
This year’s Vendor Partner Awards recognized individuals across various categories for their contributions to safety, including workers, supervisors, non-officers, and officers.
Sanjeev Choudhary, President of Tata Workers’ Union, stressed the importance of inclusivity and recognition at all operational levels, particularly for vendor partners and grassroots workers.
Rajiv Mangal, Vice President of Safety, Health & Sustainability at Tata Steel, highlighted the awards’ rigorous evaluation process and the importance of adopting safety as a core value.
TV Narendran, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Steel, emphasized the primacy of safety and the need for action-oriented safety practices while congratulating the awardees for their contributions.
For the first time, the SHE Excellence Awards 2023 honored the contributions of non-officers and vendor partners, expanding its recognition to encompass a broader community of stakeholders.
