Six Cyber Criminals Arrested for Defrauding Rural Youth in Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur Cyber Police successfully apprehends six individuals involved in cyber fraud, operating primarily in East Singhbhum’s Chakulia area.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Rural SP Rishabh Garg revealed that the gang extorted money from rural youth using the Prakharpan app and NCCRP portal.
Their activities largely went unnoticed due to the small scale of transactions.
The gang operated predominantly in rural areas, making their apprehension challenging.
Their criminal network extended beyond East Singhbhum to other districts in the state.
Jamshedpur Cyber Police’s efforts led to the tracking and arrest of the culprits.
The arrested individuals are identified as Naveen Chandra Mahato, Ramchandra Mahato, Rahul Mahato, Ajay Dalai, Sujay Dalai, and Jai Sengupta.
These cyber criminals are known for their activities in the Chakulia police station area.
Police recovered several mobile phones from the arrested gang members.
The gang has been defrauding rural youth through fraudulent activities on the Pratimbim app and NCCRP portal.
The accused have been sent to judicial custody following their arrest.
