JAMSHEDPUR – In an unprecedented event in Adityapur Industrial Area, Soma Puf Metal Private Limited suffered a devastating fire, marking the first incident of its kind in the region.
The fire, which started early Monday, rapidly engulfed the entire facility.
Tata Steel and Tata Motors, alongside the Jharkhand Fire Department, swiftly intervened, playing a critical role in the firefighting efforts.
Despite their quick response, it took approximately two hours to bring the blaze under control, reflecting the fire’s intensity.
According to Rajesh Pathak, the plant head, the fire broke out around 10:00 AM, causing extensive damage and incurring losses worth crores.
Pathak highlighted that the fire rapidly spread through the plant, leading to a total destruction of sheds and finished goods.
The financial impact of this disaster is substantial, with the company facing losses in the crores.
Rescue operations are ongoing, with the fire department also investigating the cause of the fire.
This incident at Soma Puf Metal Private Limited has caused significant concern, as such a severe fire has never before occurred in the industrial area’s history.
