Jamshedpur Hosts First Jharkhand State Para Yogasana Championship

Inaugural Jharkhand Para Yogasana Championship Supported by CII Young Indians

Jamshedpur gears up for the first Jharkhand State Para Yogasana Sports Championship, featuring 80 participants across 23 districts and various categories.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur is set to host the inaugural Jharkhand State Para Yogasana Sports Championship, organized by the Yogasana Sports Association of Jharkhand.

This groundbreaking event, receiving support from CII Young Indians, marks a significant step in promoting inclusivity in sports.

Sanjay Singh, President, and Bipin Kumar Pandey, General Secretary of the Yogasana Sports Association of Jharkhand, have played pivotal roles in orchestrating this event.

The championship, scheduled for December 30th at Agrasen Bhawan near Sakchi Mango Garden, will witness participation from all Jharkhand districts.

Shubham Yadav, State Coordinator, highlighted that this is the first time Para Yogasana is being organized in Jamshedpur.

A total of 80 contenders from 23 districts have registered, set to compete in four categories, including blind, deaf, and two categories based on the degree of physical disability (OH A and OH B).

Participants will present traditional Yogasanas, with each category awarding gold, silver, and bronze medals, amounting to 48 medals in total.

The semi-final and final rounds will feature 15-second performances, with participants choosing from two asanas.

All competitors are required to report on December 29th, bringing their Aadhar card and disability certificate.

Manoj Kumar Yadav, chief patron of the Jharkhand Para Yogasana Sports Promotion Committee, along with CII Young Indians members Ankita Naredi, Shilpa Dhanuka, Mridul Goyal, and Kaushik Modi, have significantly contributed to this event.

This championship is a landmark in promoting diversity and inclusivity in sports, encouraging participation from differently-abled athletes and showcasing the potential of Yogasana as a competitive sport.
