Tata Steel’s Event Demonstrates Athletic Prowess, Promotes Camaraderie Among Employees

Tata Steel Sports Department’s recent Inter Divisional Athletics Championship concluded with a show of immense talent and sportsmanship, showcasing the company’s commitment to fostering a competitive yet positive environment among its employees.

JAMSHEDPUR – The tournament not only highlighted Tata Steel’s dedication to nurturing sportsmanship but also served as a platform for employees to exhibit their athletic skills.

In the tournament, the Steel Manufacturing team showcased their prowess by securing the third position in the Women’s category with a total of 34 points.

Meanwhile, Tata Steel Kalinganagar’s women athletes put up a commendable performance, earning the runner-up spot with 57 points.

Dominating the Women’s category, Iron Making emerged victorious with an impressive tally of 112 points.

The Wire Division team demonstrated their athletic skills by securing the third place in the men’s category, accumulating 67 points.

Securing the runner-up position with 78 points, Tata Steel Kalinganagar’s men’s team displayed significant athletic talent.

In a remarkable show of strength and skill, West Bokaro clinched the victory in the men’s category, amassing a notable 127 points.

The event, characterized by enthusiastic participation, witnessed over 450 athletes from 16 different units of Tata Steel showcasing their talents.

Esteemed technical officials including Arif Imam, Shrawan Kumar, Shyam Sharma, Mithlesh Kumar, N C Deb, W Rehman, and K K Biswas played pivotal roles in the tournament, ensuring adherence to rules and fair play.

Mukul Vinayak Choudhari and Hemant Gupta, representing Tata Steel’s Chief Sports and Adventure Program & Sports Academies, respectively, graced the prize distribution ceremony as Chief Guests.

The prestigious Inter Divisional Athletics Championship, organized by Tata Steel Sports Department, concluded on December 20 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, marking another successful event in the company’s sports calendar.
