Shweta Shukla Takes Charge as Lenskart’s CPO, Eyeing Global Growth, XLRI Congratulates

Shweta Shukla, a seasoned HR leader, joins Lenskart as Chief People Officer to drive global expansion and organizational effectiveness.

JAMSHEDPUR – Lenskart, the leading Indian eyewear retail chain, has announced the appointment of Shweta Shukla, an XLRI alumnus, as its new Chief People Officer (CPO), effective immediately.

Based in Singapore, Shukla joins the company’s leadership board to spearhead the Global HR function, focusing on driving Lenskart’s global growth, organizational effectiveness, and enhancing its culture and leadership.

This appointment follows the departure of former CHRO Suruchi Maitra, who left to pursue her entrepreneurial interests in 2021.

In her new role, Shukla will report directly to Peyush Bansal, Lenskart’s Founder and CEO.

Her journey in the HR field is extensive, including key leadership roles at Netflix, Facebook, and Genpact.

Besides her corporate career, Shukla is also recognized as the founder of The CultureGram, fostering discussions on culture, leadership, and inclusion.

Shukla’s appointment comes at a strategic time for Lenskart, as it recovers from leadership changes and strengthens its capabilities, recently acquiring AI start-up Tango Eye.

The company has also expanded its team with Vanessa Yeo Barger as General Manager of Marketing, focusing on brand growth under Bansal’s leadership.

XLRI Jamshedpur, Shukla’s alma mater, expressed pride in her appointment, highlighting her impressive career and hoping it serves as an inspiration.

Shukla’s over two decades of experience in HR positions her as a vital asset to Lenskart’s ambitious global and organizational goals.
