Family of Late Bhagwati Khandelwal Donates Her Eyes, Lighting Up Lives
Bhagwati Khandelwal’s sons decided to donate their late mother’s eyes, under the Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) Jamshedpur program, offering the gift of sight to two individuals.
JAMSHEDPUR – Following the demise of 73-year-old Bhagwati Khandelwal from Jugsalai Naya Bazaar on July 14, her sons Gopal, Govind, and Ghanshyam Khandelwal chose to donate her eyes as part of the Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) Jamshedpur initiative.
This noble act, carried out at the Khandelwal residence in Jugsalai Naya Bazaar, will grant sight to two individuals.
Taru Gandhi, President of the association, Sita Joshi, the Roshni Sanstha Treasurer, and Dr. Ajay Gupta, an Ophthalmologist, were instrumental in organizing this procedure.
Bina Agarwal, President of MMM Jamshedpur, extended her blessings and gratitude to the Khandelwal family, Roshni NGO, and Dr. Ajay Gupta for their charitable act.
Sushila Khirwal, General Secretary of MMM Jamshedpur, revealed this information.
She mentioned that the Jamshedpur MMM chapter has been proactively facilitating eye donation drives for many years and is equipped to accept eye donations posthumously.
Bhagwati Khandelwal’s last rites were performed at the Jugsalai Shiv Ghat earlier that Friday.
The General Secretary expressed that there’s no nobler act than offering the gift of sight to two individuals post demise.
She urged society members to contact the MMM Jamshedpur President, General Secretary, or Treasurer in the event of a death in their families, should they wish to donate the deceased’s eyes.
