The Aam Aadmi Party, Jamshedpur, demanded immediate improvement in water purity from Birsanagar plant, threatening intense protest if left unaddressed.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Mahanagar Committee encircled the Birsanagar water plant in Jamshedpur.
The committee is calling for an improvement in the purity of the drinking water supplied by the Moharda water plant.
It also demanded the fulfillment of their requests without delay, warning of intensifying protests otherwise.
Birsanagar Water Plant Moharda supplies water to Birsanagar zones No. 1 to 10 and the surrounding areas.
This includes Bagun Nagar, Bagun Hato, Shanti Nagar, Mithila Colony, and Bhojpur Colony.
However, this drinking water is not potable and is unsanitary, raising concerns about the water’s quality and the plant’s operations.
Currently, the plant is operated by Tata Group’s Tata Steel UISL (Jusco), which has a distinct reputation in the country.
The provision of contaminated water by such an organization is shocking to the public, the protestors said..
On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party Mahanagar Committee gheraoed the Birsanagar water plant.
They demanded clean water supply and warned of a severe protest if their demands were not met promptly.
