SK Behera, Vice President of RSB Group, underscores plan to expand into EV sector, lauds Jharkhand’s superior industrial policy, also highlights need for improved infrastructure and an airport in the region.
Jamshedpur – SK Behera, the Vice President of the RSB Group of Companies and a noted entrepreneur, articulated his perspectives at a press conference held on Friday.
He praised Jharkhand’s industrial policy, declaring it superior to those of other states.
However, he pointed out that the state’s inadequate industrial infrastructure is an impediment to the pace of progress. Behera stressed the necessity for basic industrial frameworks and growth to efficiently propel the industrial sector forward.
The lack of an airport in or near Jamshedpur, the second-largest industrial area in Asia, was cited as regrettable.
Behera also discussed his company’s expansion plans during the conference. Following successful operations in Adityapur and Pune, the company is now expanding into Mexico, with the process already in progress.
The company’s fourth manufacturing plant has been established, and production has begun. Behera announced that the company is entering the electric vehicle manufacturing sector through a partnership with an Israeli company, in anticipation of the future demand for electric vehicles.
Work on an electronic motor system is ongoing at the Pune plant in cooperation with the Israeli partner, and soon the company plans to supply electric vehicles to Tata and Ashok Leyland Company.
In addition to industrial development, the company is also constructing a state-of-the-art super specialty hospital near Adityapur Auto Cluster. Expected to be fully operational in the next two years, the first phase will include a 500-bed hospital, with plans to expand to 1,000 beds in the future.
Behera revealed that he had recently met with Chief Minister Hemant Soren to discuss the challenges in the Adityapur industrial area. He voiced his concerns about the poor state of the roads, the need for road expansion, improved basic amenities, and accelerated industrial growth in the Adityapur industrial area.
Behera expressed contentment with the Chief Minister’s assurance of positive collaboration to address these issues.
Despite the presence of significant events such as Momentum Jharkhand, Behera acknowledged the need for better results from such initiatives.
The press conference was also attended by Jaya Singh, the HR head of the company, and other officials.
