Rural SP Rishabh Garg to Hold Weekly Public Hearings at Ghatsila

Jan Sunwai Every Wednesday at Ghatsila SDPO Office from 10 AM

Key Points:

  • Rural SP Rishabh Garg to hear villagers’ grievances every Wednesday
  • Jan Sunwai to be held at Ghatsila SDPO office from 10 AM onwards
  • Initiative aims to give rural residents direct access to police administration

JAMSHEDPUR — The district administration has launched a key initiative to resolve rural grievances faster, with Rural SP Rishabh Garg set to personally hear villagers’ complaints every Wednesday at the Ghatsila SDPO office.

The weekly jan sunwai will begin at 10:00 AM every Wednesday. Residents from surrounding villages will be able to walk in with their complaints directly. The move is aimed at bringing police and public closer in rural areas of East Singhbhum.

Rural SP Rishabh Garg stated that grievances received during the hearing would be prioritised. Moreover, he said that concerned officials would be issued immediate instructions to act on complaints. He urged villagers to make full use of this opportunity and place their problems directly before the administration.

The initiative addresses a longstanding concern. Residents of remote villages have often had to travel long distances to reach city offices. On the other hand, this new arrangement will allow them to approach senior police officials without leaving their region.

The district administration has been stepping up governance outreach in recent weeks. This jan sunwai mechanism is expected to improve communication between the police and ordinary citizens. A similar spirit of administrative outreach was seen when the SP participated in community programmes in Seraikela earlier this year.

The primary focus of the jan sunwai will be on law and order issues in rural belts. However, broader grievances related to police administration will also be taken up. The initiative is expected to strengthen security arrangements in villages falling under the rural SP’s jurisdiction.
