Tata Steel’s Inter-Divisional Men’s Carrom Championship Wraps up with Thrilling Victory

Intense competition at Tata Steel’s Inter-Divisional Men’s Carrom Championship showcases talent and sportsmanship, concludes with Tata Steel Long Products emerging as the winners.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Sports Department recently concluded the Inter-Divisional Men’s Carrom Championship, held from June 21-22, 2023, at the JFC Media Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex.

Rajeev Malhotra, Chief of Lime Plant, Tata Steel, was the Chief Guest, with Hemant Gupta, Head of the Adventure Programme and Sports at Tata Steel, also in attendance.

The championship saw enthusiastic participation from 36 teams, representing 19 units of Tata Steel, with over 72 players showcasing their talent.

In a thrilling finale, the team from Tata Steel Long Products emerged as the winners, with Team B from Ore Mines and Quarries Division securing the runner’s up position.

Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division was the second runner’s up.

Noted technical officials, including Tilak Ram, Jaswant, J Behra, Shiva, and N Das, oversaw the championship to ensure fair play and rule adherence.

Throughout the championship, Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering a spirit of camaraderie among its workforce was apparent, providing an excellent platform for employees to display their carrom skills and engage in healthy competition.
