JAMSHEDPUR – The Press Club of Jamshedpur has finalized plans for its upcoming elections, setting the stage for a crucial leadership transition in the local media community.

The election committee met today in Sakchi to discuss preparations.

Six out of seven committee members attended, with Shashi Bhushan absent.

Importantly, the committee decided to verify and publish the voter list by day’s end.

The list will be shared via WhatsApp and displayed at the Press Club office.

Members missing from the list can submit membership certificates until October 17.

Md Akbar will forward these claims to the election committee for review.

Moreover, Brij Bhushan Singh, the committee chairman, will accept claims via WhatsApp.

Notably, Singh will serve as the sole administrator of the election WhatsApp group.

The election process includes several key dates for members to note.

Nominations will be accepted on October 17 from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Candidates can withdraw their nominations on October 18 during the same hours.

Voting is scheduled for October 20 from 12 noon to 4 PM at Nirmal Mahato Guest House.

Furthermore, the election will use a secret ballot system to ensure fairness.

Results will be announced immediately after voting concludes.

Interestingly, outdoor campaigning through banners or loudspeakers is prohibited.

Candidates must pay a security deposit of Rs 1100 for their respective positions.
