Tata Steel Holds Annual Suggestion Recognition Ceremony Rewarding Employee Contributions

Tata Steel’s Annual Suggestion Recognition ceremony highlights employee and department contributions, with 24 departments and 58 individuals recognized for their innovation.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel hosted its Annual Suggestion Recognition ceremony at Steelenium Hall inside Jamshedpur Works on May 17, 2023.

The event, organized jointly by the Suggestion Box Committee (SBC) and Total Quality Management (TQM) Department, is the first physical gathering since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ceremony recognized employees and departments across all Tata Steel locations for their contributions to suggestion management.

A significant highlight of the event was the digital launch of the fourth revision of the Suggestion Management Plan by the Senior Leadership Team.

Tata Steel CEO & Managing Director, T V Narendran, and the guest of honour, Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, President, Tata Workers’ Union (TWU), presented awards to over 24 departments and 58 individual winners.

Probal Ghosh, Vice President and Chairperson, SBC, delivered the welcome address, spotlighting the growth in suggestion management across all Tata Steel sites and the corresponding improvement in key performance metrics.

Choudhary lauded the award winners and the SBC for its digital interventions, branding it as the most digitally advanced committee within Tata Steel. He stressed the importance of time management for employees to ensure work productivity and personal stability.

Narendran expressed satisfaction that suggestion management now focuses not only on idea generation but also on expediting the implementation of these suggestions.

He highlighted the organization’s focus on shop floor excellence, aligning it with the suggestion box committee’s goals.

Narendran emphasized Tata Steel’s ongoing journey towards comprehensive organizational excellence.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Shahnawaz Alam, Vice President, TWU and SBC member, who commended the team for organizing the successful event and congratulated all participants and winners.
