JAMSHEDPUR – A team from Tata Steel UISL’s land department encountered violent resistance after a demolition operation in Sonari’s Circuit House area. Residents of the nearby Jhabbri settlement surrounded the team, throwing stones and unleashing dogs on them. In the chaos, the team managed to escape the scene to save their lives.
The attackers allegedly also brought along two to three Labradors, which bit and injured the personnel. Four home guard members—Pintu Kumar, Rohan Kumar, Shravan Kumar, and Gulshan Kumar Bhatt—sustained injuries and were treated at Tata Main Hospital (TMH). Despite the severity of the incident, Sonari police have not received a formal complaint yet.
Injuries and Investigation
Following the attack, the injured home guards were rushed to TMH for medical attention. Land department officials, along with representatives of the Home Guard Union, visited the hospital to assess the situation and gather details.
Lack of Complaint Raises Questions
Although the incident has caused significant concern, the absence of a formal police report has left many questioning the next steps. Locals are urging a swift resolution and preventive measures against such incidents in the future.
