Tata Steel Employee Dies During Kedarnath-Badrinath Pilgrimage
Devashish Gorai Passes Away In Hotel Room After Temple Visit
Family In Shock As Sole Breadwinner’s Body To Be Transported Back To Jamshedpur
JAMSHEDPUR – Devashish Gorai, a Tata Steel employee from Majhi Tola, Adityapur, tragically passed away during a pilgrimage to Kedarnath-Badrinath.
Gorai, the sole breadwinner for his family, had traveled with friends to seek blessings at Baba Barfani shrine.
"He completed his darshan on Saturday and returned to the hotel on Sunday," a fellow pilgrim reported.
Feeling unwell, Gorai decided to rest in his room while his companions went for a walk.
Upon their return, they found the door locked from inside and had to break in, discovering Gorai unconscious.
"We rushed him to a local hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival," stated one of his distressed friends.
The news has devastated Gorai’s family, particularly his wife and daughter in Seraikela Kharsawan district.
Tata Steel officials are coordinating with local authorities to arrange the transport of Gorai’s body back to Jamshedpur.
The incident highlights the potential health risks associated with high-altitude pilgrimages.
Local community members have expressed their condolences and offered support to the bereaved family.
Arrangements are underway to bring Gorai’s body back by road, given the challenging terrain of the pilgrimage route.
