Former Tata Steel Officer Commits Suicide Due to Mental Stress in Jamshedpur

A K Singh, a former officer at Tata Steel, tragically took his own life by jumping into Dimna Lake, reportedly due to sustained mental stress.

Jamshedpur – In a tragic incident, Awadhesh Kumar Singh, a 52-year-old resident of Farm Area Road No. 5 under the jurisdiction of Kadma Police Station area, committed suicide by jumping into Dimna Lake.

His family members attribute his extreme step to prolonged mental stress.

The deceased, identified as Awadhesh Kumar Singh, was formerly employed as an officer grade in Tata Steel Company from 2000 to 2010 but was let go due to unsatisfactory performance.

Post his termination, he lived with his wife and son at his mother’s house. However, his wife moved back to her maternal home in Samastipur with their son, which is believed to have contributed to Awadhesh’s deteriorating mental health.

Ramesh Kumar Singh, the elder brother of the deceased, revealed that Awadhesh had purchased a duplex in Baliguma Vastu Vihar using his severance money, which he later sold in 2014.

After exhausting his finances, he alternated between living with Ramesh and their younger brother, Krishna Kumar Singh.

On the day of the incident, Awadhesh had left Krishna’s house, claiming he was going for a shave, but never returned.

After a long wait, his family reported him missing at Mango police station at 9 PM. Unfortunately, the police later discovered Awadhesh’s body, which was sent to MGM Medical College for a post-mortem.

His remains are currently kept in the cold room, and the last rites will be performed upon the arrival of his wife.
