Abhay Singh’s supporters raise slogans in support; MP Bidyut Mahato, senior BJP leaders meet DC, SSP to seek information; Saryu Roy calls Abhay Singh’s arrest ‘wrong’

Jamshedpur: The city police arrested senior BJP leader Abhay Singh on Monday morning and sent him to jail after a medical check-up at MGM Hospital on charges of inciting communal violence.

Singh and several others were arrested on the grounds of attempting to incite unrest following the arson and subsequent disturbance in Shastri Nagar in Kadma on Sunday night.

East Singhbhum SSP Prabhat Kumar and his team arrived at the residence of BJP leader Abhay Singh in Kasidih at 5 a.m. and arrested him immediately, taking him directly to Bistupur police station.

Singh’s supporters, accompanied by Akhara committee members,, arrived at the police station and began protesting against the police.

The arrival of MLA Saryu Roy further charged the atmosphere, prompting police action.

Roy attempted to obtain information from officials at the station regarding Singh’s arrest but was dissatisfied with their responses.

Saryu Roy later said that the police action against Abhay Singh in this case was unjustified.

BJP Delegation Meets the DC and SSP

After violence broke out in Shastri Nagar of Kadma and Jamshedpur police administration came into action, on Monday, a five-member team of Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of MP Bidyut Baran Mahato met the Deputy Commissioner and SSP of the district at the Circuit House and took stock of the situation.

Apart from MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, the team included JB Tubid, Laxman Singh, Laxman Tudu, senior BJP leader Dineshanand Goswami and Jamshedpur Mahanagar District President of BJP Gunjan Yadav.

Abhay Singh Sent to Jail

Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy also reached Bistupur police station, and he returned after getting Abhay Singh brushed and ensuring that he has his breakfast.

While Abhay Singh was being taken in a closed vehicle, the workers blocked the road.

People were lying down on the road too.

Later, showing strictness, the road was cleared by the police and Abhay Singh was taken to MGM Hospital.

He was sent to jail after his medical examination at MGM Hospital.

A case of rioting has been filed against him.

The arrest of senior BJP leader Abhay Singh has sent shockwaves through the political circles of Jamshedpur.
