City police parades Kanhaiya Singh on roads, sends stern message to underworld

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur police has sent a stern coded message to the underworld by parading a handcuffed Kanhaiya Singh through the streets of Sakchi, the nerve center of Jamshedpur, from Jubilee Park to the area near Bengal Club.

The message, though coded, was clear: criminal gangs would not be allowed to function freely in the city any more.

The police move received applause from the general public too.

Kanhaiya Singh, an accomplice of criminal Akhilesh Singh, was recently apprehended in Kanpur. He was brought over to Jamshedpur. The local police, while taking him to the courts, on Thursday paraded him through the streets with a rope wrapped around his waist in a demonstration of the rule of law.

The City SP Vijay Shankar, said that the city now prefers the rule of law over criminals dictats. Onlookers applauded the police as the latter led Kanhaiya Singh through the streets on the way to courts.
