Anti-encroachment drive continues in Sakchi on Thursday

Jamshedpur: The anti-encroachment drive launched on Wednesday under the direct watch of Jamshedpur DC Vijaya Jadhav continued today in the JNAC areas.

The efforts of the district administration to make the city roads free of encroachment continued Thursday too.

On Wednesday, the Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav had herself led a drive to make the Sakchi Bazar area free from encroachment and vehicle parking.

The officials continued the drive on Thursday too.

Shops built by encroaching footpath inside the market were removed.

Those shopkeepers who have made structures were asked to remove the shop as soon as possible.

Krishna Kumar, Executive Officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee, said that this drive will continue in the days to come.

He said that roads and markets have been forcibly encroached upon by some roadside vendors.

He said that despite repeated warnings, the encroachment was not being cleared by them, after which the district administration has taken strict steps to clear the encroachments.
