DHANBAD – Congress leader Izhar Bihari staged a unique protest against inflation by donning Mahatma Gandhi’s attire and vegetable garlands.

The leader wore garlands made of garlic, onions, and potatoes. Moreover, he conducted a city tour reaching Gandhi Seva Sadan.

Bihari highlighted the plight of common people facing soaring prices. Furthermore, he criticized the government’s handling of inflation.

Price Impact

Basic vegetables have become unaffordable for common people. Additionally, garlic prices have skyrocketed to Rs 400 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, onions and potatoes are selling at Rs 40 per kilogram. “Inflation is bleeding the poor in installments,” Bihari stated.

Demands for Action

The protest called for immediate legislative action on inflation. Additionally, Bihari demanded solutions for unemployment issues.

The Congress leader emphasized the decade-long price rise problem. However, he criticized the central government’s lack of serious intervention.

Bihari’s Gandhi-inspired protest drew public attention. Meanwhile, he urged immediate government measures to provide relief from inflation.
