Walk-in vaccination centre inaugurated at Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur

3000 vaccinations are targeted on the first day, while the centre would be open from 3 pm to 10 pm.

Jamshedpur: As announced, the walk-in vaccination center was duly inaugurated at Keenan Stadium in Bistupur.

The centre has been launched on the initiative of the district administration and Tata Steel to vaccinate maximum number of people and protect the city from possible third wave of corona.

The center was inaugurated by Executive Magistrate Mrs. Savita Topno and probationary Deputy Collector Ms. Nikita Bala.

Persons without registration will also be accommodated at this center.

On the first day, a target of 3000 vaccinations was set.

Vaccination will be done daily at Keenan Stadium in walk-in mode only from 3 pm to 10 pm.

In Keenan Stadium, 10 vaccination booths have been set up so that 10 people can be easily vaccinated at the same time.

2 ANMs have been deputed in all the booths.

At the same time, vaccination work is being done under the supervision of doctors.

Observation room, seating arrangement for the beneficiaries and proper arrangement of drinking water and toilets have also been ensured at the centre.

Also, there are separate queues for women, elderly and disabled people so that they do not face any inconvenience in getting the vaccine.

Expressing happiness about the opening of this vaccination center, the beneficiaries said that this step of the district administration is very commendable.

In this center, a large number of people can easily get vaccinated at the same time.

The beneficiaries also expressed happiness about the cleanliness in the center and the security system from corona infection.

Hoardings have been put up at various places in the vaccine center to create awareness about protection from corona infection and a selfie corner has also been provided.

The Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar said on the occasion of the inauguration of the vaccination center at Keenan Stadium that the district administration had already decided that the vaccination programs would be expanded.

Along with this, in view of the high demand of vaccines in the district, a large quantity of vaccine is being supplied from the state level as well.

He said that the aim is to ensure vaccination of as many people as possible before the third wave.

He said that East Singhbhum has become the district which has got the maximum number of vaccinations done in the whole of Jharkhand.

Congratulating the entire team associated with the vaccination work on this occasion, he said that it is the result of the tireless efforts of SDM Dhalbhum, DSO and all other officers and employees.

He said that a record 41 thousand 898 people were vaccinated on September 5 in a single day.

Regarding vaccination in walk-in mode at Keenan Stadium, he said that according to the demand of the people, this center has been started so that people going to the office or other people related to employment can easily get vaccinated after finishing their work.

Also, those persons who were facing problem in online slot booking or who are not very technology-friendly can easily get their vaccination done in walk in mode.

Dhalbhum SDM Sandeep Kumar Meena, senior in-charge of vaccination cell said that in the operation of this center, co-operation is being taken from Care India Foundation and Tata Steel.

He said that today being the first day, if any problem arises those would be resolved.

He said that there is no shortage of vaccine in the district. One needs to go to the nearest center and get the vaccination done.

He said that those in urban areas who are not able to book slots online can come to Keenan Stadium and get vaccinated.

He clearly said that if people keep coming, arrangements will be made to vaccinate 10,000 people in a day by increasing the capacity of the vaccine center of Keenan Stadium.
