India does MAGIC, more than 69.25 lakh people vaccinated on day 1 of new vaccination regime
New Delhi: After the Centre’s ‘Revised Guidelines for Covid vaccination’ came into effect today, June 21, as announced by the PM Narendra Modi in his address to the nation, India has vaccinated more than 69.25 lakhs people on a single day. The target was to achieve 50 lakhs. But, the country surpassed the target and completed 69.25 vaccinations on Monday itself.
This is the highest vaccination figure achieved by the country on a single day.
While, the second wave is on a steady decline, the country is already bracing for a possible third wave. As experts point out that vaccinations, apart from social distancing, remain the last resort for humanity, India has redoubled its efforts to vaccinate more and more people.
India had made a target to vaccinate more than 50 lakh on the very first day of revised arrangement for vaccination. And it has succeeded in surpassing the target.
Indian government has already made it clear that it hopes to vaccinate everyone in the country by December 2021.
India is also planning to vaccinate 1 crore people every day soon under its new policy.
