Jharkhand Sizzles Under Scorching Heat, Palamu Records Highest Temperature at 44.6°C

Heatwave Grips Palamu, Rain and Lightning Alert Issued for Several Districts

Residents of Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, experienced another day of intense heat on Saturday, with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius in most districts.

RANCHI – The scorching sun was at its peak in Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas, causing people to sweat profusely.

Palamu district recorded the highest temperature in the state at a blistering 44.6 degrees Celsius, while Jamshedpur witnessed a maximum temperature of 41.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 27.4 degrees Celsius.

Heatwave conditions were officially recorded in Palamu district, indicating the severity of the heat.

Except for seven districts, the remaining districts of Jharkhand experienced temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.

Immediate Warning and Alert for Rain and Lightning

The Meteorological Department issued an immediate warning on Saturday, alerting the public about the possibility of rain in East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela Kharsawan, Gumla, and Khunti districts.

During this period, wind speeds are expected to reach 30-40 km per hour.

Weather Forecast for Sunday

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Sunday, warning of heatwave conditions in many districts and the possibility of rain and lightning in several others.

A severe heatwave warning has been issued for Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, Simdega, Lohardaga, Latehar, Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Saraikela Kharsawan districts.

Additionally, there is a possibility of lightning in Simdega, Godda, Pakur, Dumka, Deoghar, Jamtara, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Saraikela districts.

As the heatwave conditions persist, residents are advised to take necessary precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours.

Authorities are likely to monitor the situation closely and take appropriate measures to ensure public safety and well-being.
