JAMSHEDPUR – Two motorcycle-borne criminals robbed a woman of her purse at gunpoint on Brahmani Road in Sidhgora police station area on Wednesday night.

The victim, Seema Thakur, was traveling with her son Arpan. The incident occurred around 8:45 PM near Bagunagar.

Moreover, both sustained injuries after falling from their scooter. Arpan hurt his hand in the incident.

Details of the Robbery

The criminals targeted Seema while returning from Sakchi. She had gone to purchase a gold chain.

Furthermore, one of the attackers brandished a pistol. They snatched her purse containing valuables.

“The purse had Rs 5,000 cash and a gold chain,” stated the victim.

Suspicious Development

A strange incident followed the robbery. An unidentified youth returned the stolen mobile phone.

Additionally, he claimed finding it on the road. He handed it to the shop staff around 9:30 PM.

“How did he know the mobile belonged to us?” questioned Seema.

Police Investigation

The victim immediately informed her family. Police were notified about the incident.

Besides, officials have begun investigating the case. They are examining the mysterious phone return.

“The investigation is currently underway,” confirmed a police source.
