Satnam Singh Gambhir Reaffirms Commitment to 1984 Riots Victims’ Compensation

Eastern India President of All India Sikh Students Federation, Satnam Singh Gambhir, pushes for justice and compensation for 1984 riots victims.

In a crucial step towards securing justice for the victims of the 1984 riots, Satnam Singh Gambhir, Eastern India President of the All India Sikh Students Federation, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring compensation for all affected families.

JAMSHEDPUR – Today, Satnam Singh Gambhir, along with advocate Inderjit Singh Dimple from Daltonganj, gave Advocate Diwakar Upadhyay a detailed list of 178 victims.

The Jharkhand High Court had previously asked Gambhir, with the help of his lawyer Advocate Upadhyay, to give specific information about the victims who haven’t received compensation, broken down by district.

As per this instruction, Gambhir started a careful journey through different districts in Jharkhand, where he met with families who were victims and gathered their information.

"We are committed to ensuring that every family affected receives the compensation they deserve," stated Gambhir.

The list that was submitted to Advocate Upadhyay today represents months of hard work and is a meaningful step towards bringing justice to the victims of the riot.

Upadhyay has been encouraged by Gambhir to passionately present the case of these families in the Jharkhand High Court.

Gambhir has shown unwavering support for the victims, making regular visits to Jharkhand to advocate for their rights.

It is worth noting that his efforts bring attention to the unfortunate truth that numerous families continue to experience, even four decades after the tragic events of 1984.

Gambhir stressed the significance of persisting in the fight until every family of the victims is adequately compensated.

Rupesh Sharma, a social worker and dedicated supporter of the victims’ cause, was also present at the event.

The fact that people like Sharma are involved highlights the widespread support for this justice movement, which has been needed for a long time.

As the legal battle continues, the victims and their advocates hold onto hope that the court will listen to their pleas and provide a verdict that brings justice and compensation to all the families impacted.

Satnam Singh Gambhir’s unwavering dedication is a shining light of hope for the victims.
