JSSP hosts a talk show on Mobile phone Safety

Jamshedpur: JUSCO School South Park on behalf of SAFE in collaboration with Tata Steel organised an online talk show on Mobile Phone Safety on 28 August, 2021.

Mrs Ruchi Narendran, Chairperson SAFE, Mr Anuj Kumar, Head Information security and Data privacy, Tata Steel, Core committee members of SAFE Mrs Varsha Daga and Mrs Anjali Kant, Principals, Coordinators, teachers and 800 students from 30 schools attended the session.

Mrs Mili Sinha, Principal JUSCO School South Park on behalf of SAFE welcomed the guests and said that such safety initiatives for the adolescents is the need of the hour in these turbulent times.

This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony.

Mrs Ruchi Narendran, Chair person SAFE, set the context by saying that school closures and strict containment measures have made the students to rely on technology and digital solutions to assist them in learning, entertainment and connection with the outside world, but not all children have the necessary knowledge, skills and resources to keep themselves safe online.

She said that this time a new initiative has been adopted by SAFE where the students are the co- host of the event because the kids of today are more tech savvy and they can guide their parents .

Students of JSSP, Sneha Sharma and Amisha Pal of Std XI highlighted the mobile phone safety issue amongst the teens through a presentation.

Thereafter Mr. Anuj Kumar, Chief Mentor and Expert Advisor, answered the questions posted by the students from different schools.

Students asked if Internet Banking was safe or not. Does the low signal in the battery harmful for the users? Do smart phones need anti virus protection? He guided them appropriately and also shared his expert views on the same.

He said that people must use mobile phones with awareness and understanding the technology behind it because awareness will eliminate fear of using phone.

Mr. Pradeep Kumar Yadav, Manager, Contractor Safety Management, RM, PC & SPC, TATA Steel assisted in coordinating among the schools and SAFE.

Mrs. Anjali Kant, Core Committee Member, SAFE proposed the vote of thanks.
