East Singhbhum takes rapid strides in vaccination campaign

46% citizens above 45 years of age have already received first dose, 52% citizens above 60 age group have also received first dose

Jamshedpur: Vaccine is the only effective method, apart from social distancing and masking, to fight and overcome the global pandemic caused by corona virus.

In the second wave of this epidemic, the most affected district in Jharkhand was Jamshedpur. However, despite this Jamshedpur has made rapid strides in meeting vaccination targets.

Mentioning this, the Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum Suraj Kumar said that 46% of the people above 45 years of age have already taken the first dose of the vaccine.

On the other hand, 52% of people over the age of 60 have taken the vaccine in the district, he added.

Special vaccination camp organised in East Singhbhum for those who plan to go abroad.

At the same time, 10% of the citizens above the age of 18 years have also been vaccinated, he said.

Speaking at a Special Vaccination Camp organised for those who are planning to go abroad, he said that on the instructions of the Government of India, this Special Vaccination Camp has been organised for those people who were studying abroad or doing jobs or those who want to go abroad again.

Under the initiative, 88 people had applied for vaccination certificates, out of which 18 persons were handed over the necessary documents on Tuesday after vaccination.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the vaccines would be available after 21st of June for the people in the age group of 18 to 45 years.

The DC also said that Covishield vaccine for people in the age group of 18 to 45 years would also be made available to the people of rural areas. He said that the people in rural areas will be vaccinated in offline mode.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction at the progress of vaccination campaign in the district. He said that vaccinating more and more people is the first priority of the district administration.

He appealed to the common people to reach the vaccination center and take the vaccine when it is their turn to take it.
