CHAIBASA – A district-level NCORD (Narco Coordination Centre) meeting convened with the Superintendent in the Collectorate Auditorium saw detailed discussions on the ongoing de-addiction campaign aimed at eradicating drug abuse in West Singhbhum.
The campaign, which runs until June 26, focuses on raising awareness and mobilizing community efforts to combat drug addiction.
During the meeting, participants took an oath to work towards creating a drug-free society.
Awareness Initiatives
Under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of West Singhbhum, a painting competition was organized at the Badminton Day Boarding Training Center.
This event, conducted under the aegis of the District Sports Office, forms part of the broader awareness campaign against drug abuse.
The initiative aims to engage the youth and the community in creative activities that highlight the dangers of drug addiction.
Commitment to a Drug-Free Society
The collective slogan for the campaign emphasizes the commitment to a drug-free life: "Our life should be drug-free. Drug addiction is a disease. It is our responsibility to get rid of it."
The Jharkhand government has reiterated its full commitment to banning drugs and supporting de-addiction efforts across the state.
Officials urged residents to utilize the toll-free number 112 for assistance and reporting drug-related issues.
The meeting highlighted the need for coordinated efforts at various levels to effectively tackle the issue of drug abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free environment in the district.
