National agency intensifies efforts to uncover Naxalite operations in Jharkhand.
JAMSHEDPUR – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched a series of raids in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand, as part of its ongoing investigation into terror funding and Naxalite activities.
On Thursday morning, NIA teams descended upon Manoharpur, concentrating their efforts in the Jogeshwar Bhatta area.
"The NIA’s presence indicates the seriousness of the situation," a local security related source commented. "This investigation could have far-reaching implications for Naxalite operations in the region."
Key Focus Areas
The raids primarily target funding channels of the CPI Maoist Naxalite organization.
Investigators are also probing the attack on former MLA Guru Charan Nayak.
Recent NIA Activities
This operation follows recent NIA raids in West Singhbhum that led to multiple Naxalite arrests.
Important documents and equipment were reportedly seized from Naxalite hideouts.
Attack on Former MLA
Gurucharan Nayak, a former BJP MLA, was attacked by Naxalites during an event in West Singhbhum.
While Nayak escaped, two of his bodyguards were killed in the incident.
The NIA has registered an FIR against several Naxalites, including Misir Besra, in connection with this attack.
As the investigation unfolds, local authorities remain tight-lipped about specific details. However, the NIA’s increased activity in Jharkhand suggests a renewed focus on dismantling Naxalite networks in the region.
