Thieves target Parsudih Mandi shop, escape with Rs. 10 lakh in cash
Jamshedpur: Unidentified thieves targeted and broke into a provisions shop Rajesh Bhandar in Parsudih Mandi and decamped with about Rs. 10 lakh in cash.
According to police sources, the thieves also damaged the CCTV camera and DVR installed in the molasses shop before carrying out theft.
The information spread like wild fire in the entire Krishi Bazar Samity. The shopkeepers raised questions on the efficiency of Krishi Bazar Samity management.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, the Dy SP Alok Ranjan reached the place of occurrence and launched investigations into the incident.
The police also interrogated the security guards deployed in Parsudih Mandi.
The owner of Rajesh Bhandar said that they were having heavy transactions before Makar Sankranti and it was not safe to carry cash at night. Keeping safety in mind, he said, he left around Rs. 10 lakh in cash at the cash counter of the shop.
However, when the employees of the shop arrived in the morning, they found that the shutter of the shop was broken. He said that he was informed about this and when he reached the shop he found that the thieves had decamped with Rs. 10 lakh in cash.
The thieves also damaged the CCTV camera and the DVR installed in the shop.
He said that it is surprising that the thieves managed to break into the shop despite their being private security in Samity premises.
