Thieves Steal Rs 1.41 Lakh and 50 Boxes of Liquor from Chandil Shop

In a major theft, Rs 1.41 lakh in cash and 50 boxes of expensive liquor were stolen from a government licensed liquor shop on Dam Road under Chandil police station in Seraikela district.

CHANDIL – A group of criminals unlawfully entered a government licensed liquor shop located on Dam Road, near Chandil police station last night.

They took away a significant amount of cash, totaling Rs 1.41 lakh, along with 50 boxes of high-end liquor from various brands, valued at approximately Rs 3.70 lakh.

After receiving the information, the team from the Excise Department, led by Excise Inspector Akhilesh Kumar, arrived at the location and carried out a comprehensive investigation.

A complaint has been filed at the police station.

Inspector Kumar stated that an investigation is currently being conducted to ascertain the cause of the theft.

It was observed that the security guard working at the shop had left for home at night without notifying anyone, and now his position is being questioned.

There have been previous theft incidents in liquor shops in the district.

There have been previous incidents of theft in Kandra, Adityapur, and Ichagarh.

The police are currently focused on investigating the case in order to catch the individuals responsible and prevent any similar incidents from occurring in the future.
