RANCHI – A Railway Protection Force constable prevented a major accident at Ranchi railway station Monday night.
Constable Sanjay Bhagat saved a woman passenger’s life. She fell between the platform and moving train.
The incident occurred during train number 18086’s departure. The Kharagpur MEMU was leaving the station then.
The woman attempted to deboard the moving train. However, she slipped into the gap immediately.
Bhagat acted without hesitation and pulled her out. His swift response averted a potential tragedy.
The woman identified herself as Asha Kumari. Her husband is Sunil Oraon from Akashi thana area.
Moreover, they reside in Bhandara locality of Lohardaga district. She was traveling from Ranchi to Lohardaga.
Kumari boarded the wrong train by mistake. She realized the error after boarding.
In panic, she tried exiting the moving train. The hasty decision led to the fall.
RPF officials praised Bhagat’s alertness and courage. Such incidents highlight importance of platform safety.
