Thieves Target Government Liquor Shop in Jamshedpur’s Kagalnagar

Break-in at Sonari police station area store raises concerns about repeated incidents

Authorities investigate as criminals cut through roof to access cash and alcohol.

JAMSHEDPUR – A government-run liquor shop in Kagalnagar, within the Sonari police station jurisdiction, fell victim to a burglary on Tuesday night.

Thieves made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and several bottles of alcohol from the premises.

"We’re still assessing the total value of stolen goods," stated a police official who wished to remain anonymous.

Sonari police station in-charge and additional forces arrived at the scene to investigate the break-in.

The criminals gained entry by cutting through the tin roof of the establishment.

This marks the second theft at this particular liquor outlet, raising concerns about security measures.

"The frequency of these incidents is troubling," remarked a local resident. "It makes us question the effectiveness of current precautions."

Jamshedpur and surrounding areas have witnessed a spate of liquor store robberies in recent times.

The pattern of thefts has led to speculation about potential organized criminal activity.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the perpetrators.

The shop’s location on a main road in Kagalnagar, close to a regular police patrol point, adds to the mystery.

Authorities are investigating how the thieves managed to carry out the operation despite the shop’s prominent location.

The incident highlights the need for enhanced security measures at government-run liquor outlets.

Local businesses have expressed concern about the potential impact on the area’s safety reputation.
