Tata Main Hospital Nurses Celebrate International Nurses Day with Cultural Programs

Nurses at Tata Main Hospital commemorate International Nurses Day with cultural events, emphasizing their valuable contributions, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jamshedpur: International Nurses Day, observed annually on May 12 in honor of the birth anniversary of modern nursing’s founder, Florence Nightingale, was marked by a series of cultural events at Tata Main Hospital.

The nurses at the hospital celebrated the occasion with a vibrant array of activities, including solo and duet dance performances, skits, and various traditional dances like Sambalpuri, Dandiya, and Santhali.

These programs, held at the Rose Garden within the hospital premises, brought much joy to the spectators.

This year’s theme, “Our Nurses – Our Future,” highlighted the pivotal role of nurses in healthcare, especially in light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic. A tree plantation program was also organized at the Covid Warrior Park within the hospital grounds to mark the occasion.

The chief guest at the event, Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice-President of Corporate Services at Tata Steel, lauded the nurses for their tireless efforts during the pandemic.

His encouraging words served as a morale boost for the nursing fraternity, acknowledging the challenging times they have faced.

Dr. Sudhir Rai, General Manager of Medical Services at Tata Steel, graced the event as the guest of honor. He addressed the audience, sharing his insights and admiration for the nursing profession.

Marykutty Babu, the Nursing Superintendent, welcomed the attendees and acknowledged the nurses’ valuable contributions.

She also underscored the significance and responsibilities inherent in their profession.

The event saw participation from all heads of departments and the administrative team of Tata Main Hospital, who expressed their appreciation and gratitude towards the nursing staff.
