Rajendra Nagar Residents Demand Urgent Electrical Infrastructure Overhaul

In Rajendra Nagar, Mango, residents have been grappling with a power crisis that escalated into public demonstrations, driven by four days without electricity. The situation was exacerbated by an associated water shortage, further inciting the community’s frustration.

JAMSHEDPUR – In response to an extended electricity outage in Mango’s Rajendra Nagar, local BJP leader Vikas Singh intervened to address the community’s grievances and ensure swift action.

Residents informed Vikas Singh of the ongoing disruptions linked to a new multi-storey construction in their area.

They reported that a 200 KVA transformer designated for this building has been idle for five months, while its connection to the existing local grid has led to frequent outages.

The overload has been detrimental to the daily functionality of the existing infrastructure.

The community’s hardship was magnified by the inaccessibility of stable water supplies, complicating daily routines, particularly for women managing household chores.

During a public gathering, Vikas Singh criticized the local MLA and the electricity department for their neglect, suggesting that such disregard could drive residents to relocate from Mango.

In discussions with the electricity department’s Executive Engineer, Singh advocated for the immediate installation of the stored transformer to alleviate the grid’s burden.

He proposed an interim solution involving a separate connection from a temporary transformer.

The engineer agreed to prioritize the installation, which placated the protestors, who paused their demonstration following a commitment to action within 24 hours.

The event was marked by the presence of several community leaders and residents, emphasizing the widespread impact of the issue and the collective demand for a resolution.
