JAMSHEDPUR – Srinath University’s YI Volunteers team has taken a significant step towards promoting electoral literacy and encouraging voter participation in Jamshedpur.
The team conducted a door-to-door campaign as part of the YUVA – SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) initiative, focusing on the residents of Ashiana Gardens in Sonari.
The campaign, aptly named "Vote Karega Jamshedpur," was led by a group of dedicated volunteers, including Simran Khanna, Rishaan Ranjan, Tirumalesh Murty, Jay, Vani, and Anjali Kumari.
The volunteers engaged with residents, highlighting the crucial role that each individual’s vote plays in shaping the future of their community and the nation as a whole.
Through their interactions, the team aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm among the residents, encouraging them to actively participate in the upcoming elections.
The door-to-door approach allowed the volunteers to have personal conversations with the residents, addressing any concerns or queries they might have about the voting process and providing them with essential information about their rights and duties as voters.
By emphasizing the tagline "Aapke ek vote say farq padta hai" (Your one vote makes a difference), the campaign underscored the power of individual participation in the democratic process.
The YUVA – SVEEP initiative, under which this campaign was conducted, is a nationwide program aimed at educating and empowering young voters to make informed decisions and actively engage in the electoral process.
Srinath University’s YI Volunteers team has demonstrated their commitment to this cause by taking the message of electoral literacy directly to the doorsteps of the residents in Ashiana Gardens.
The success of the "Vote Karega Jamshedpur" campaign lies not only in the number of people reached but also in the impact it has on the mindset of the residents, fostering a culture of active citizenship and responsible voting.
As the election season approaches, initiatives like these play a vital role in strengthening the democratic fabric of the nation by ensuring that every eligible voter is well-informed and motivated to exercise their fundamental right to vote.
