Abhay Singh Raises Issue of Illegal Sand Mining in Jamshedpur
BJP’s Abhay Singh Alleges Collusion in Sand Theft
Jamshedpur’s sand theft, involving illegal mining and police collusion, raises alarm.
JAMSHEDPUR – BJP leader Abhay Singh has brought to light the ongoing illegal sand mining in various areas around Jamshedpur.
He specifically pointed out Baharagora, Kandarbera, Dhalbhumgarh, Adityapur, and the Baridih Jila School grounds as key locations.
Singh accused lower level police officials of colluding in this illicit activity, causing significant revenue loss to the government.
According to Singh, the Baridih District School ground has become a prime spot for these illegal operations.
He expressed concern over the daily theft of sand worth lakhs from this site, despite its proximity to the Sidhgora police station.
Singh alleges that a local sand mafia, in cahoots with some police officers and politicians, is behind this large-scale theft.
He emphasized the severity of the situation, stating that smuggling has become a common practice across the state.
In Bagunhatu and Baridih, sand extraction is reportedly taking place unlawfully, even in densely populated areas.
Singh pointed out the silence of a prominent Congress leader living near the illegal mining sites, raising questions about his involvement.
He accused a specific havildar from Bagun Nagar TOP of providing protection to the sand mafia.
Despite efforts by the SSP of Jamshedpur to enforce law and order, Singh claims these are being undermined by corrupt practices of some junior officers.
