Saryu Roy Pushes for Resolution Repeal to Aid Jamshedpur Ownership Rights

MLA seeks cancellation of 2018 revenue department order hindering residents’ property rights

Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy advocates for repealing a government resolution to facilitate ownership rights for local residents.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has called for the cancellation of Jharkhand Government’s Revenue Department Resolution 817/Ra, issued in 2018, to clear the path for granting ownership rights to Jamshedpur residents.

Roy presented a motion of attention in the Assembly on July 31, highlighting the resolution as a major obstacle to residents’ property rights.

The government’s response indicated no immediate plans to cancel Resolution 817/Ra, but didn’t rule out future consideration.

Roy criticized this stance, emphasizing the resolution’s significant hindrance to securing ownership rights for residents.

The discussion was cut short when the Assembly Speaker adjourned the House due to BJP MLA disruptions.

The MLA has committed to continue advocating for ownership rights for slum dwellers in Jamshedpur.

Roy plans to revisit this crucial issue in future Assembly sessions.

This push for resolution repeal underscores the ongoing challenges in urban property rights in Jamshedpur.

The debate highlights the complex interplay between government policies and residents’ property aspirations.

Roy’s efforts reflect the importance of addressing long-standing urban development issues in Jharkhand.
